We began the day with one of my all time favorite language activities....Mr. Potato Head! The pool was full of parts and potatoes. You should have heard the language and seen the creations!
Our book today was We've All Got Bellybuttons by David Martin. This story follows animals as they talk about their body parts and the things they help us do. At the end, we discover that we've all got bellybuttons for tickling! It was the kids favorite part! However, here's the warning from the story.....we may have created a slight fascination with finding and seeing other people's bellybuttons! Sorry!!
During language circle, we made complete sentences about our own body parts. The list was very long and the kids all loved using a sentence starter.
Science today was an anatomy lesson! Yep...anatomy! We created a person! The kids decided that she should be a girl and her name should be April. We gave her hair (she's a blond, in case you were wondering), eyes, nose, feet, toes, hands, fingers.....well......we gave her every part we could think of! Once she was complete, we even invited April to lunch!
What a great week of Body Parts! The kids are all settling in to a routine and really enjoy being together. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your child's life!
