We welcomed our new friend Austin to school today on his first day. We had already been practicing his name and looking at his picture, so some friends knew his name right away. This morning we called our friends by name to pass a ball in a circle. We had to remember that good friends always give everyone a turn!
For art today, we made Friendship Trees filled with "leaves" with all our friends names on them. Each friend passed out their own leaves and we glued them on our papers. This activity was good practice for turn taking, waiting, and sharing. All things that good friends do!! The trees looked great when we were all finished....and they all loved finding their names on their other friend's trees!
| "Our lives are filled with simple joys, and blessing without end. And one of the greatest joys in life, is to have you as a friend!" |
Our song/video of the day was from Yo Gabba Gabba. I'm not exactly sure what kind of characters these guys are....but the kids seemed to like it and it had a good message.
You can see for yourself in the picture why we don't do a lot of "watching" on the iPad.....we trying to create communicators....not zombies!!
