Leaf People

Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert was the story of the day.  Each page has hidden animals and objects that describe the Leaf Man's travels as the wind blows across the forest.  The kids really enjoyed listening for clue words as we searched the pictures for the hidden item.

After the story we took the kids out on a Leaf Finding walk.  We needed extra leaves for our art today and we wanted them to pick them out.  We made sure everyone was thinking about body parts for their own Leaf Men......and off through the neighborhood we went.  We found big leaves, and yellow leaves, and leaves that looked like arms and legs.  We found pine needles for hair and acorns for eyes.  It was a great walk.

We headed inside with our collection and started construction on our own Leaf People.  The projects turned out really cute and the kids took turns telling stories about their people and naming them.  We were having so much fun, lunch got started a little late today!!
