ONE MORE "SLEEP"....

One more sleep and it's FINALLY here!!  Halloween!  The kids are so excited about tomorrow and all the fun they are going to have!  We spent the morning circle talking about what everyone was going to dress up like and all the things we might see on Halloween!  We also welcomed our new friend today....Carter!  Carter will be in Ms. Tiffany's class, but we were all excited to show (and tell) the new kiddo how everything is done!

Ms. Michelle had another crawling obstacle course.  Under the table, over several bean bags, under a group of chairs.....the kids loved it!  After a couple trips around the course, they were all worn out.  We regrouped for a sensory activity after that.  We made sensory baggies.....beware because they are in your child's book bag.  Ziploc bags (heavy duty ones) filled with hair gel and glitter make fun boards on which to write letters and shapes.  You can use it at home to practice your child's name and some of the basic prewriting strokes.

The playground was CHILLY today!  Luckily we avoided the rain, but the wind was relentless.  The kids didn't seem to mind.  When you're running around with your friends, you don't seem to notice the cold.

Today we read Froggy's Halloween by Jonathan London.  As the sacred day grows nearer and nearer, Froggy spends all his time daydreaming about what costume we will wear for Halloween. Should he be a superhero? A pirate? A ghost? Finally, in the middle of the night, the day before Halloween, it hits him: he'll be the Frog Prince! This suits Frogilina just fine, since she's going as a princess!!  The kids were so excited to see what happens to  Froggy on his many trick or treating adventures and they shared stories of their own adventures and costumes.  This story was a great conversation starter!!

Art today was creating jack-o-lanterns out of shapes.  We asked for each shape by name and used our creativity to make a face.  Some were scary.....some were happy....some were.....well....very Picasso like!!  The kids really liked it and had fun comparing pictures!

Tomorrow is a BIG day.....get some rest tonight......your children are SO excited about Halloween....they've waited all month!!
